Chinese – Language and Literature, Art and Culture
The Chinese – Language and Literature curriculum is designed with the following student objectives in mind:
- Master correct written language;
- Learn various means of expression through the study of different genres in composition (narration, description, argumentation in prose, poetry, plays, novel, and short stories);
- Study argumentative texts in order to progressively develop the skills of critical thinking, analysis and expression;
- Understand Chinese culture as it relates to our contemporary world in order to become responsible citizens.
The curriculum will focus on the use of correct spoken and written language: the study of narration; the study of description; thorough study of argumentative texts in order to progressively develop the students’ abstract reasoning and critical thinking.
