International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP)

Tuesday, July 7, 2015

The ISF Academy is delighted to share the IB DP results for the Class of 2015.

Most pleasingly, building on the results of previous years, all 28 members of the Class of 2015 outperformed the DP benchmark set by IB schools worldwide, with more than 70% receiving the prestigious Bilingual Diploma. The average IB Diploma score is 37.5 points, which far exceeds the worldwide average of 29.9, and no score was below 32 points.

This year, 29% of students achieved an IB score of 40 and above, which is considered the threshold for admission to the world’s best universities. Three students achieved the distinction of scoring 43 out of a maximum of 45 points.

We are particularly proud of the strong Bilingual Diploma results this year. Of the 28 graduates, 20 (71%) were awarded the Bilingual Diploma, which recognizes students who have achieved native or near-native level in two languages.

Once again, the overall pass rate of 100% is very impressive and is significantly above the world average success rate of 79%.

On the individual subject level, 70% of grades awarded were 6 or 7.  The overall mean score is 5.8 for all subjects, and 6.0 for English A.  In addition to strong individual subject scores, our students demonstrated a strong commitment to the core elements of the IB Diploma — with 83% of the cohort receiving 2 or 3 core bonus points for the Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay components.

Members of the Class of 2015 will now have the option to take up places at the world’s leading universities, such as Cornell University, New York University, Boston University, UCLA, UC San Diego, Imperial College London, University College London, Australian National University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Hong Kong, and Tsinghua University, to name but a few.
