Financial Aid Program

The Board of Governors of The Independent Schools Foundation Limited is committed to creating a diverse student population at The ISF Academy. The ISF Academy does not receive any financial support from the Government for its operating expenses. Thus, all funds supporting our Financial Aid Program come from donations and The Independent Schools Foundation Limited.

The ISF Academy believes that the cost of an independent school education should not be a deterrent to prospective families and welcomes all interested families who need financial assistance. Financial aid is available to eligible students of all grades from Foundation Year to Grade 12. Each application will be assessed individually by the Financial Aid Committee, and qualified applicants will receive assistance covering 20% to 100% of tuition fees, depending on the needs of the individual applicant. In determining eligibility, the Committee looks at the number of household dependents, the monthly family income, and the net value of assets held.

Students who are awarded a Merit-Based Scholarship are also eligible for Financial Aid.

The ISF Academy has a need-blind admissions policy and an applicant’s financial needs are not considered during the admissions selection process.

1. School Fees

Students who are successful in their application for Financial Aid are awarded a school fee reduction at different levels of remission, ranging from 20% to 100%, depending on the financial circumstances of the applicant’s family.

Financial aid recipients are required to re-apply for Financial Aid Program each academic year, and to do so no later than 28 February.

2. Capital Contribution

All students entering The ISF Academy are required to participate in the capital contribution scheme. Families who are successful in receiving Financial Aid may receive a corresponding remission on the Annual Capital Levy contribution.

3. Other Fees

To encourage students under the Financial Aid Program to acquire learning experiences in a holistic manner, Financial Aid also covers fees of the Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) Program and Experiential Learning Program (ELP). Interested students are to submit the reimbursement form on or before 30 June of each academic year. For details of the extended coverage, please click here.

Financial aid recipients are obliged to keep the school informed immediately should their family’s financial situation improve. The ISF Academy also reviews the financial status of each recipient family periodically, to determine eligibility for on-going financial support.

Financial aid is awarded on the basis of financial need of the applicant. The Financial Aid Committee of The ISF Academy has the sole discretion in awarding financial aid.

Parents / Guardians requesting financial assistance are advised to submit the Financial Aid Application before the deadline as indicated in the below table. Financial Aid applications submitted after this date may not be processed in time to reflect the Financial Aid remission amount in the Admissions offer letter and applicants who receive an enrollment offer will need to pay the full Acceptance Deposit and the full Capital Contribution amount to reserve the applicant’s place in the school.

The Financial Aid Application form can be obtained from our Admissions Office or from our website. The information provided in the Financial Aid Application allows the Committee to allocate the funds appropriately and enables the school to be accountable to the donors who have so generously given to help those in need.
