Assistant Auditorium Manager /Auditorium Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate and manage with users all events including scheduling, set-up, rehearsal, performance/presentation, dismantle and reset;
  • Maintain an accurate master calendar for the performance venues and booking schedule of all events on regular basis for administration and planning purpose;
  • Provide the technical support (including stage, lighting, audio and video, etc) and professional advices on event’s logistics (including development of timelines, staffing’ role and responsibility, recommendation on facility, seating plan, crowd control, and front of house management, technical requirements, procurement of vendors, vendor coordination, etc);
  • Support real-time and pre-recorded streaming;
  • Manage full time / part time venue technicians;
  • Manage new installation and maintain the functionality, efficiency, cleanliness, and safety of all stage facilities and equipment (including physical plant, stage rigging, lighting fitments, audio, and video equipment, etc.) and troubleshoot if necessary;
  • In the presence of a faculty staff, this role will be involved in student learning, in terms of lighting, audio, video, and stage management;
  • To provide simple IT services to users;
  • Administer the tendering and contract administration process, including obtain and evaluate quotations, prepare tender documents and issue work order for services contract;
  • Manage and supervise outsourcing services contractors with assistance of venue technicians;
  • Prepare and monitor CAPEX and OPEX budgets and expenses;
  • Monitor purchasing, contract support, and payment processing;
  • Maintain a high level of health and safety standards of the performance venues;
  • Receive and handle complaints; and
  • Handling of tasks assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Higher Diploma / Degree or equivalent in Theatre Management related discipline;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing performance venues, of which 2 years should be at supervisory level;
  • Experience working in sizable performing arts organizations, NGO or education institutions in Hong Kong would be an advantage;
  • Possess ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
  • Possess good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin);
  • Possess a high degree of proficiency in using AutoCAD and MS Office applications;
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills;
  • Able to work under pressure, independent and with minimum supervision; and
  • Candidates with less experience can be considered as Assistant Auditorium Manager.
