Because I grew up in a time where we\u2019ve been made acutely aware of climate change\u2019s devastating effects, I hope to help secure a future for our generation by contributing towards a more sustainable and equitable energy future. I think our school has been successful in building a culture of sustainability, from the solar panels on the roof to the <em>Shuyuan<\/em> sustainability projects that students are encouraged to participate in, which definitely contributed towards my current interest in this field.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past 13 years at ISF, I am most thankful for our Chinese department. While English has become the mainstream language for many, including myself, the Chinese department has ensured that we do not neglect our learning of Chinese and has supported us the whole way. Bilingualism is a central aspect of our school. When you learn a language, you learn more than its grammatical rules and vocabulary; you are also learning about the culture.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The experience and resources that the school has provided us has taught me the importance of lifelong learning. Learning takes place inside and outside of the classroom. The school has raised us to be adaptable, resilient and independent in the learning process.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space
