Dunhuang art is the art of Buddhist enlightenment. The Dunhuang Grottoes were constructed since 1,657 years ago.\u00a0 As there are nearly a thousand caves preserved, the grottoes are also known as \u201cThousand Buddha Caves\u201d. The Dunhuang Grottoes are rare artistic sites in the world and were listed as UNESCO world cultural heritage in 1987, the first listed project in China.
