It facilitates various student projects, from planetary science to microbiology. It operates full-time research laboratories for molecular biology, renewable energy, and an engineering l that supports materials science and nanotechnology.<\/p>\n<p>This Research Technician role supports the following pieces of equipment: WITec alpha300R Confocal Raman Microscope (with 532 and 785 nm laser sources), JEOL JCM-7000 NeoScope Benchtop SEM with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Gasmet FTIR gas analyzer, material deposition furnaces, and a UV-VIS-NIR spectrometer.<\/p>\n<p>All research equipment and techniques are intended to enable a wide variety of applications, and the <em>Shuyuan<\/em> Research Technician should be versatile and keen to learn and experiment.<\/p>\n<p>Opportunities for professional development (e.g. through technical training, scientific publications and conferences, etc.) are possible.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;50px&#8221;]<style text=\"text\/css\"><\/style><h2  class=\"isf_custom_heading underline\" style=\"text-align:left;\">Job Responsibilities<\/h2>[vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To coordinate the use of resources and facilities and provide advice in the practical areas of need;<\/li>\n<li>To help maintain equipment and materials in good working order and safe for student use;<\/li>\n<li>Assist with materials purchases and setup of spaces across the molecular biology lab and engineering lab;<\/li>\n<li>To assist students during classes;<\/li>\n<li>To ensure the availability of suitable materials and equipment, helping to compile orders and liaising or negotiating with suppliers and finance departments;<\/li>\n<li>To work with outside organizations as required;<\/li>\n<li>To offer administrative support and perform other duties as assigned;
