css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1616640716532{padding-right: 100px !important;}&#8221;]<style text=\"text\/css\"><\/style><h2  class=\"isf_custom_heading filled\" style=\"text-align:left;\">Assistant Director of Finance<\/h2>[vc_empty_space height=&#8221;50px&#8221;][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner]<style text=\"text\/css\"><\/style><h2  class=\"isf_custom_heading underline\" style=\"text-align:left;\">Responsibilities<\/h2>[\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the Head of Finance as a core member of the Finance management team;<\/li>\n<li>Oversee and review daily finance operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with approved policies and procedures;<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance and escalation support for complex, sensitive or cross-entity finance matters;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure consistent application of finance policies and controls across all entities and teams;<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance on procurement matters and review purchase orders submitted for approval;<\/li>\n<li>Review month-end closing schedules, reconciliations, management reports, budget and forecast reports, and report to Education Bureau to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency;<\/li>\n<li>Assist in replying to enquiries from Inland Revenue Department and Education Bureau;<\/li>\n<li>Monitor reporting timelines and standards across entities, ensuring alignment with Education Bureau requirements, institutional and statutory requirements;<\/li>\n<li>Review, quality-check, and coordinate finance-related papers for Finance Committee , Audit Committee, Development Committee , Financial Aid Committee , and other governance meetings;<\/li>\n<li>Support decision-making by ensuring finance submissions are clear, accurate, and aligned with governance expectations;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and oversee external audit matters, including audit planning, fieldwork support, and resolution of audit findings;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, accounting standards, internal control frameworks, Education Bureau requirements and governance policies;<\/li>\n<li>Lead enhancements to finance workflows, system processes (e.g. SAP), and internal procedures to improve efficiency, transparency, and control;<\/li>\n<li>Act as a key liaison with IT, system vendors, and users on finance system implementation, enhancement, and issue resolution;<\/li>\n<li>Promote standardization and best practices in finance systems usage across the organization;<\/li>\n<li>Take a leadership role within the Finance Office by mentoring, guiding, and supporting senior and junior finance staff;<\/li>\n<li>Support performance management, knowledge transfer, succession planning, and continuous professional development within the team;<\/li>\n<li>Communicate and collaborate with academic and administrative departments on finance-related matters, providing professional advice and operational support; and<\/li>\n<li>Administrative and any ad hoc duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;50px&#8221;][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner]<style text=\"text\/css\"><\/style><h2  class=\"isf_custom_heading underline\" style=\"text-align:left;\">Requirements<\/h2>[\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting \/ Finance or other related discipline;<\/li>\n<li>A full member of an internationally recognized accounting professional body;<\/li>\n<li>At least 10 -12 years of solid accounting and financial management experience, with at least 6 years of managerial experience;<\/li>\n<li>Solid experience in financial reporting, budget and forecast reporting, audit coordination, internal controls, and finance operations;<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in sizable and complex organizations; experience in the education sector would be an advantage;<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership mindset with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels;<\/li>\n<li>High level of professional integrity, sound judgement, and discretion;<\/li>\n<li>Proactive, mature, and resilient, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure;<\/li>\n<li>Collaborative and confident when engaging senior management and cross-functional stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Strong computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint etc.) and experienced user of SAP \/ ERP systems;
