To set performance standards and benchmarks, clearly defined scoring criteria or rubrics are established for each subject and grade. Formative and summative assessments\u00a0are used\u00a0to evaluate students and for special projects, students engage in self- and peer- reflections.<\/p>\n<p>Teachers are regularly assessing a student\u2019s progress against established standards rather than their ranking order. In addition to teacher-designed tests, classroom observations, projects, reports, homework and portfolios are also considered. Report cards\u00a0are issued\u00a0at the end of each term to inform parents of their child\u2019s academic progress, work habits, and character development.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;50px&#8221;]<style text=\"text\/css\"><\/style><h2  class=\"isf_custom_heading underline\" style=\"text-align:left;\">Homework<\/h2>[vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;][vc_column_text]<span class=\"TextRun SCXW48971391 BCX9\" lang=\"EN-HK\" xml:lang=\"EN-HK\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW48971391 BCX9\">Homework is valuable in helping students make the most of their school experience. Homework strengthens academic skills, reinforces concepts learned in class, encourages students to develop responsibility and good study habits. Teachers assign homework based on the ability level of students in a given class.
