Sustainability efforts are supported throughout our K-12 curriculum, facilities management operations, organic gardening projects, student-led sustainability research, faculty personal development training and other school-wide sustainability events. Through all this, we aim to empower students, faculty and staff to lead a sustainable lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p>Sustainability is an integral part of the mission and future of ISF. In order to reflect the growing importance of sustainability on our campus, in 2021 The <em>Eight Virtues + One<\/em> were re-interpreted through a &#8220;sustainability lens&#8221; to give the community a strong foundation and vision in our approach to sustainability. The <em>Eight Virtues + One<\/em> are greatly applicable to our efforts towards sustainability, conservation and living with nature. These values serve as an inspiration to all members of the ISF community and guide us in our sustainability efforts and academic pursuits.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the school\u2019s continuous efforts in implementing environmentally sustainable measures in the school sector, the Academy was awarded &#8220;Gold&#8221; in the 2019 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence for both the Primary and Secondary categories, organized by the Environmental Campaign Committee of the HKSAR Government.<\/p>\n<p>The Academy is a founding member of The Alliance for Sustainable Schools (TASS). In this way, we ensure curricular connections and sustainable practices appear in the taught curriculum of day-to-day classrooms as well as in the daily lives of our teachers.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;50px&#8221;]<style text=\"text\/css\"><\/style><h2  class=\"isf_custom_heading underline\" style=\"text-align:left;\">Sustainability &amp; Student Engagement (Primary School)<\/h2>[vc_column_text]Providing an early foundation for Primary students to explore sustainability and the climate around them is an important goal for the School. Sustainability is explored through various channels in the Primary Curriculum such as Project Day, Guided Discovery and other Co-Curricular Activities.\u00a0A unique aspect provided to them is the sustainability-related data sets prepared by the\u00a0<em>Shuyuan<\/em>\u00a0Department for which the data is taken from our very own campus.
