The Independent Schools Foundation Academy (The ISF Academy) is an internationally accredited independent International Baccalaureate World School. The ISF Academy was founded in 2003 and in a very short time established itself among the independent schools in Hong Kong, while at the same time offering something different. It teaches a blended curriculum rooted in eight traditional Chinese virtues and leads its students towards global qualifications. The unique Chinese-English teaching environment is taking place in an East-West bicultural context.

Our students learn about our eight traditional values: commitment, respect, care, passion, courtesy, integrity, harmony, and balance, and these values culminate in wisdom. Those values inform our teaching and learning on a daily basis. They give the school its unique character and they also give our students the guidance they need to become passionate, life-long learners who will endeavor to succeed in their future careers.

The ISF Academy is fortunate to attract high-caliber educators who subscribe to the values of the school. Our education goes beyond the confines of a narrow curriculum and sets challenges to our students that stretch their ability and prepares them for their future in a number of ways. The school takes experiential learning very seriously and offers a wide range of activities in which students engage independently and often outside their comfort zone. Through its Shuyuan program, the school offers academic courses that go well beyond what schools traditionally offer.

Our students are confident and are enabled to cope with challenges. They learn, sometimes by trial and error, how to progress and how to realize their ambitions. ISF Academy students are currently studying at the world’s top universities; some have already graduated. They are doctors, engineers, architects, working for NGOs or international organizations. They are living our values and are striving to leave a mark on this world.
