The greatest takeaway from ISF I’ve come to realise is the fact that we need to seek out opportunities for ourselves. One of the opportunities I was fortunate enough to stumble upon was the Shuyuan programme, where researching at the Shuyuan Molecular Biology Laboratory for the past 3 years has enabled me to push my limits again and again, helping me grow not only as a student or researcher, but also as an individual.

No matter what lies ahead, I believe that the traits of integrity, sincerity and fortitude that I’ve learned from ISF will serve as the foundation that will guide me forwards in life, as I aspire to become a pioneer in the field of orthopaedics, and to leave a positive mark on the lives of others.
