Troy Bacchus

Nothing in the world is worth having or doing unless it means effort, pain, or difficulty. If it were easy, it wouldn’t be valuable.

My name is Troy Bacchus, a ‘23 graduate from the ISF Academy in Hong Kong who plans to major in the five-year Bachelor of Architecture program at Cornell University.

As an aspiring architect, I am eager to pursue my interests in design, computer science, and spatial awareness. Architecture impacts all of us in a very tangible way, every day. We spend our lives within built environments working at workplaces, living in homes, or relaxing at favorite locations. For me, designing spaces for those who spend their time in them and exerting a real positive influence on their lives will be rewarding.

Sustainability shouldn’t only be the realm of the rich, but a fundamental human right.

As I stand on the cusp of graduating, I feel an overwhelming sense of pride in myself and my accomplishments. Not only have I succeeded academically, but I have also been a source of inspiration for those around me. Knowing I have worked hard and inspired others makes me feel grateful and fulfilled. I am proud to have been a role model for those who look up to me, and I am excited to see what the future holds for me.
