Outside the classroom, some of my biggest lessons came from working with others — learning how to collaborate, lead, and trust the people around me. Starting a community service project with friends in ISF pushed me to step up, communicate clearly, and take responsibility not just for myself, but for a team. Being part of the LX team in ISF taught me how to listen before leading, and that good collaboration isn’t about control — it’s about trust and shared purpose.

One of the things I’ve loved most about ISF is the wide range of opportunities given to students to explore a variety of subjects and interests in considerable depth. Having studied Latin from Grade 7 through the Diploma Programme, I gained a deeper appreciation for cultural sensitivity and engaged with rewarding intellectual challenges that broadened my thinking and inspired a lasting curiosity for languages and learning.

Something I’ve come to learn through my experiences in ISF is that doing your best really is enough — even if it doesn’t always feel like it. It’s worth aiming high, even when the outcome isn’t certain.

Trying doesn’t guarantee success, but not trying guarantees you’ll miss out. There’s more to gain from reaching than from holding back.
