Eco-Conscious Fashion Show

Charles Kao Square was transformed into a mystical, eco-green space for an evening of upbeat live music and sensational charity catwalk hosted by Embody, a student-led CAS organization committed to promoting sustainable and ethical fashion. In collaboration with Redress, a local environmental NGO striving to mitigate the negative impacts of fashion, all proceeds from the show, along with textiles gathered from clothing drives, will be donated to support their mission.

Throughout this project, our passionate and gifted student organizers and designers have called into question vanity or sustainability in today’s fleeting fashion choices generating aberrant levels of global textile waste. By way of an unconventional re-fashioned wardrobe presenting statement designs of upcycled garments and outfits, our visionary designers demonstrated the boundless potential of upcycled materials, second-hand textiles and harnesses resources in the hands of ethical creators. The audience was blown away by the bold expression and powerful communication through the re-inventions.

We are exceptionally proud of our students for spearheading this extraordinary and imploring event. We hope this initiative has nurtured consciousness in our community to think and act differently in our pursuit of a more sustainable and ethical lifestyle.
