August 1, 2019

The Independent Schools Foundation Academy (ISF) is delighted to congratulate all members of its Class of 2021 for their excellent International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) eAssessment results.

MYP eAssessment comprises of onscreen examinations in Language and Literature (Chinese and English), Mathematics, Sciences, Interdisciplinary Learning and Individuals and Societies, ePortfolios in Design, the Arts, PHE and Language Acquisition (Chinese and English), and a Personal Project. Each student, depending on his or her subject choices, completes a total of eight of the above components.

Head of School, Dr. Malcolm Pritchard praised the efforts of the students: “Members of the Class of 2021 have achieved outstanding results in this innovative form of assessment, performing well above their peers globally. As the only eAssessment school in Hong Kong, we are pleased to have received external validation of the quality of ISF teaching and learning.”

  • Average MYP eAssessment score for ISF candidates is 46 points (world average – 36.5)
  • 100% pass rate (world average – 78.8)
  • 84% of ISF candidates received the bilingual certificate (world average – 39.4%)
  • Average subject score 5.73

These pleasing scores reflect the strong conceptual understanding, knowledge and skills that our students have gained throughout the Middle Years Programme. Accordingly, we are confident of their ability to meet the academic challenges that lie ahead as these students embark on their IB Diploma Programme journey.
