ISF Wushu Athlete Represents HK to Become World Champion

March 26-30, 2026

The 10th World Junior Wushu Championships concluded recently in Tianjin, China. Representing Hong Kong, Lucas of the ISF Wushu Elite Team surpassed competitors from 78 countries, sweeping triple gold in Boys’ Group C (Changquan, Jianshu, Qiangshu). He became one of the first athletes to reach this milestone and the second world champion in the 20-year history of ISF Wushu!

This amazing achievement is a wonderful wrap to Lucas’ final appearance in the children’s category. In the past 3 years, he has earned 7 international gold medals, an incredible journey built on passion and perseverance, as he noted

“hope doesn’t precede effort; effort brings hope.”

In addition, the Outstanding Junior Athlete Awards, organized by the Hong Kong Sports Institute and supported by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, was held on April 22. A total of 90 outstanding young Hong Kong athletes from 26 sports were recognized. Lucas was conferred the award for his triple gold (Changquan, Jianshu, Qiangshu) performance at the 12th Asian Junior Wushu Championships.

Behind the glory is relentless training, immeasurable self-discipline and continuous breakthrough. Lucas’s solid fundamentals have consistently earned praise from judges and commentators. Thank you to the inspiration and guidance of ISF Wushu Head Coach Master Yu and the unwavering support of all ISF teachers, who have enabled Lucas to bring honor to both Hong Kong and the school.
