Assistant Auditorium Manager / Auditorium Manager
Job Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate and manage users for all events including bookings, scheduling, rehearsal, performance / presentation, get-in / get-out;
- Maintain the master calendar for the performance venues and booking schedule of all events on regular basis for administration and planning purposes;
- Stage manage and provide technical support (including but not limited to main/deputy stage management, lighting design and operation, audio design and operation, etc.);
- Plan and advise on event logistics (including development of timelines, roles and responsibilities of stakeholders, recommendation on facility, seating plan, crowd control, and front of house management, technical requirements, procurement of vendors, vendor coordination, etc);
- Support real-time and pre-recorded streaming;
- Manage full time / part time venue technicians;
- Manage new installation and maintain the functionality, efficiency, cleanliness, and safety of all stage facilities and equipment (including stage rigging, lighting fitments, audio, and video equipment, etc.) and troubleshoot or advise on changes and upgrades as necessary;
- In the presence of faculty staff, this role will support student learning in theatrical stagecraft areas (lighting, audio, video, and stage management;) and front of house;
- To provide simple IT service to users;
- Administer the tendering and contract administration process, including obtaining and evaluating quotations, preparing tender documents and issue work order for services contract;
- Manage and supervise outsourcing service contractors with assistance of venue technicians;
- Prepare and monitor CAPEX and OPEX budgets and expenses;
- Monitor purchasing, contract support, and payment processing;
- Maintain a high level of health and safety standards of the performance venues;
- Receive and handle complaints; and
- Handling of tasks assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- Higher Diploma / Degree or equivalent in Theatre Management related discipline;
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing performance venues, of which 2 years should be at supervisory level;
- Stage management experience and qualifications would be an advantage;
- Experience working in sizable performing arts organizations, NGOs or educational institutions in Hong Kong would be an advantage;
- Possess ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
- Possess good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin);
- Possess a high degree of proficiency in using AutoCAD may be needed and MS Office applications;
- Possess experience working with lighting system (ETC Cobalt would be an advantage)
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills;
- Able to work under pressure, independent and with minimum supervision; and
- Candidates with less experience can be considered as Assistant Auditorium Manager/Stage Manager.
