Education Technology Systems Analyst

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and maintain education technology systems and applications, including the School’s LMS (e.g., Moodle);
  • Perform system configuration, updates, troubleshooting, and annual rollover tasks to ensure stable and effective operations;
  • Integrate education technology platforms with internal and external systems through APIs and other integration methods;
  • Participate in the full application development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and enhancement;
  • Work closely with the Head of Education Technology, Head of IT, and Academic staff to design and deliver systems that support teaching, learning, and student digital portfolios;
  • Collaborate with divisional stakeholders to assess platform usage, identify needs, and recommend improvements;
  • Provide in-person and written support to teachers, students, colleagues and parents on the use of education technology platforms and related services;
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
  • Maintain system updates, debugging processes, data sharing, and platform performance monitoring;
  • Support the uploading, embedding, and management of multimedia content across education technology systems;
  • Promote effective and consistent use of education technology platforms in alignment with the School’s mission, vision, and educational technology strategy; and
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance digital learning experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree holder or above, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
  • At least 5 years of relevant development or systems experience;
  • Solid hands-on experience in web application development and support, including PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, SQL, jQuery, and Ajax;
  • Experience working with web APIs and integrating (linking) different internal and external platforms or systems;
  • Practical experience with version control systems, preferably Git, and familiarity with collaborative development environments;
  • An advantage to have experience working with or developing LMS (e.g. Moodle or other LMS platforms), including experience in LAMP-based environments (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and web services or integrations such as SOAP, REST, or XML;
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle confidential information appropriately;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • A self-starter and self-motivated autonomous worker with effective time management abilities;
  • Good command of written and spoken English; proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese & and Putonghua) is an advantage.
