Educational Psychologist
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate, in conjunction with the Director of Li Ren on-going psychological services and learning support initiatives for the whole school;
- Develop, in conjunction with the Director and the Assistant Director of Li Ren, school-wide learning support program as part of the implementation of the Inclusion (SEN) Policy, i.e. early identification of students with social, emotional, learning and behavioral difficulties, response of intervention (RTI), formulate strategies and collaborate with different stakeholders to provide support system for them;
- Conduct appropriate psycho-educational assessments and provide recommendations and strategies for teachers and parents to support students at school and at home;
- Manage, in conjunction with Grade Level Leaders/Heads of House and Primary/Secondary Leadership Team, students of concern/at-risk students and provide support for devising support plan or action plan of improvement for them;
- Liaise with parents, administrators, teachers, and external healthcare service providers regarding psycho-educational needs and support strategies for identified students;
- Coordinate regular review meetings of students and ensure effective communication of relevant information to colleagues;
- Provide professional development for faculty and staff regarding learning diversity and parent education programs to support parents to enhance parent-child communications and family wellbeing;
- Remain active and informed of current practices and innovations within inclusive education and social and emotional well-being and bring best practice to The ISF Academy;
- Build a caring, inclusive, positive school atmosphere and make student well-being and safeguarding one of the top priorities in school’s operation; and
- Undertake any other duties as required by the Director of Li Ren.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Educational Psychology (Professional Practice) or equivalent; Professional qualifications in education are highly preferred;
- Working experience in a school setting is highly desirable; Solid experience in conducting psycho-educational assessments and providing interventions for primary to secondary school students;
- Excellent in interpersonal skills, case work and group work skills;
- Compassionate, student-centred and motivated team player; and
- Good command in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin).
