Experiential Learning Safety Coordinator

Job Responsibilities

  • Undertake the regular review of standard operation procedures; risk assessments; staff training and curriculum as outlined by ISF;
  • Work to support the Experiential Learning Team in the managing the equipment handling for all activities to ensure the effective provision and the co-ordination of experiential learning programs;
  • Coordinate all bi-annual staff training and professional development to ensure all staff meet requirements to lead programs, including but not limited to General Assessments, Water Based Assessments, and Land Based Assessments;
  • Manage all administrative aspects of the four pillars of student safety;
  • Manage all incident reports and student safety reports;
  • Monitor the performance of service providers to ensure course content, methodology and practices are aligned with ISF student safety and in line with philosophy of ISF;
  • Manage and build relationships with ISF students, staff and parents; and
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Experiential Learning Manager and implement projects assigned to them to successfully achieve the objectives of the department. Including but not limited to local and oversea excursions, school wide events and Outdoor Exploration Society.

Requirements

  • Tertiary Degree in Experiential Learning, Outdoor Education and or Education;
  • Tertiary Degree or Certification in outdoor education risk and safety management;
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in outdoor education risk and safety management;
  • Will be required to work over-time or during weekends depending on the needs of the students and the activities, competitions, events organized;
  • Have initiative and drive to make things happen;
  • A strong leader with excellent people management skills;
  • Solid hands-on interpersonal and collaborative communication skills;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English;
  • Excellent command of Microsoft office and Google docs; and
  • Passion for teaching and working with school aged children.
