Head of Experiential Learning

Reporting to the General Manager, the Head of Experiential Learning will be responsible for the strategic planning and management of all aspects of these programs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create a long-term strategy for Experiential Learning and successfully achieve short, medium- and long-term objectives for the program;
  • Monitor and improve existing programs, develop and implement new courses and curricula;
  • Monitor and develop Outdoor experiential learning center;
  • Monitor the performance of Experiential Learning staff and ensure course content, methodology and practices are in line with the ISF philosophy;
  • Oversee the running of activities, including managing the scheduling of, and enrolment into, classes and assignment of teaching staff and provider;
  • Oversee the renewing of Association of Experiential Education accreditation;
  • Develop fundraising events to improve the experiential learning program;
  • Conduct experiential learning courses for the ISF community during school holidays;
  • Effectively communicate with all stakeholders;
  • Track the progress of all students and share feedback accordingly;
  • Perform all other duties as assigned; and
  • Attend and provide Professional Development sessions to develop the skills and knowledge of the Experiential Learning staff.

Requirements

  • Possess a tertiary qualification, Masters or above degree in Education / Outdoor Education / Experiential Learning an advantage;
  • At least 10 years’ experience in leading an Experiential Learning program that includes students in Pre-School, Primary and Secondary levels;
  • Experience in a school setting;
  • Possess current certification or equivalent in at least two technical experiential learning skills from an internationally recognized association;
  • Have experience in leading Award for Young People and / or Duke of Edinburgh Certification;
  • Possess a current Wilderness First Aid and CPR certificate;
  • Willing to work irregular hours, as most activities take place in the late afternoon and weekend;
  • Fluency in English and/or Mandarin essential;
  • Strong administrative skills with excellent command of Microsoft office and Google platform;
  • The ideal candidate must display the following attributes:

    • A strong leader with excellent people management skills
    • Excellent communications capability
    • Be a team player
