Primary Music Technician for Orchestra, Band and General Music

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain up-to-date inventory of equipment; including instruments and musical resources, keep record of resources, and to liaise with teachers for ordering needs.
  • Arrange regular inspections of instruments and maintain stocks of accessories.
  • Ensure instruments and resources are returned to appropriate storage area, and ensure each area is locked and secured when not in use.
  • Support all music purchases by liaising with vendors and completing orders with the purchasing department.
  • Re-organization and storage of new equipment and materials for the following academic year.
  • Photocopy and create digital media files when required
  • Provide assistance in setting up before class and organize student equipment after lessons.
  • Liaise with music teachers for the day’s lessons and needs.
  • Assist in recording assessments and curation of audio and video resources
  • Provide support for practical music classes where appropriate.
  • Ensure instruments are kept in working order, to include minor repairs and maintenance
  • Provide assistance with all Music events (before, during and after events).
  • Collaborate with Visual Art, Drama and Music departments; and
  • Co-ordinate with administrative staff and facilities management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Music, Performance Art or related subjects awarded by a professional institute;
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant working experience preferably in education environment;
  • Sound working knowledge of musical equipment and their storage needs;
  • Music-based training would be an added advantage;
  • Be IT literate and competent in using google drive / calendar;
  • Able to meet tight deadline, well organized and independent; and
  • Good command of spoken and written English.  Command of Chinese would be an asset.
