Senior Accountant / Assistant Finance Manager
Responsibilities
This role supports the Finance Office in financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting and audit coordination. Working closely with the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Manager, the role ensures accurate financial records, effective internal controls, and timely delivery of management information, while contributing.
- Handle full sets of accounting for assigned entities. Perform and support month-end closing procedures, including preparation and review of accounts, accounting schedules, journals, and reconciliations;
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of financial reports in accordance with accounting standards and internal requirements;
- Assist in gathering information of annual budgets, forecasts, and periodic management reports for assigned entities or functions;
- Assist in coordinating annual statutory audits, preparing audit schedules, and gathering information to auditors’ enquiries;
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures to ensure compliance and risk management;
- Handle accounting transactions, including expenses, reimbursements, fixed assets, and other finance operations, to ensure proper documentation and accuracy;
- Support treasury functions including cash flow monitoring, fund management and bank administration activities;
- Assist in cash flow forecasting and liquidity analysis to ensure sufficient funding for operational and capital needs;
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide finance support on projects, initiatives, and committee-related matters; and
- Any ad hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree holder in Finance, Accounting or Business-related disciplines;
- CPA/Chartered Accountant equivalent qualification highly preferred;
- At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience. Experience in the education sector is an added advantage. Candidates with more experience and/or demonstrating strong capabilities may be considered as Assistant Finance Manager;
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications (knowledge of SAP will be an advantage);
- Detailed-minded, strong analytical skills, independent and able to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines;
- Proactive, mature and adaptable to change;
- Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset;
- Good command of written English, Cantonese, and Putonghua; and
- Team player, supervision experience is a plus.
