Teaching Intern

Teaching Internship/Fellowship Training Program 

The purpose of the ISF Teaching Internship, also called the Teaching Fellowship, is to provide university or college graduates who have a demonstrated interest in education, and who have studied to a graduate level in priority disciplines, with an opportunity to undertake a year’s immersion in an independent school setting in preparation for further study and work in the field of education. Priority in the selection process is given to the following three key subject areas:

  • Languages: English, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and Japanese
  • Arts: Music

The internship program has the following expected outcomes:

  • Encourage and facilitate exceptional graduates to select teaching as a lifetime vocation;
  • Enrich the learning experiences of ISF students in key areas of study;
  • Enrich ISF student knowledge of specific courses and institutions of tertiary learning;
  • Enrich the professional working environment at The ISF Academy through the addition of rare expertise and experience in key areas of learning; and
  • Formal teacher training may be offered to selected candidates as a part of the internship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university;
  • Proficiency in English; and
  • Ability to collaborate with others, work as a team, and communicate effectively.
