Following a successful appeal to the International Baccalaureate Organisation, on Monday, August 17 we received a set of heavily revised Diploma Programme (DP) results for the Class of 2020.

The highlights and amended grades are summarized as follows:

100% pass rate Average DP score for ISF candidates is 38.9 points (originally 37.2) 1 student scored a perfect 45 10 students scored 44 or 43 points 24 students scored 40 points or higher (48%) (originally 38%) 76% students received the Bilingual Diploma Average subject score 6.12 (originally 5.9) Average core points score 2.1

Out of 50 students in the 2020 cohort, 39 received improved grades with an increment of at least 1 point. At a subject level, 30 Chinese subject scores were increased out of the 50 graduates, which is the highest overall change. We are also very pleased to report that one student achieved a perfect score of 45 points.

Head of School, Dr. Malcolm Pritchard, praised the efforts of the graduating class. “These amended results are a more accurate reflection of the true ability and effort from this outstanding graduating class.” Nearly all students will be able to take up courses in their first-choice university after the amendments. “We have made contact with all students affected by the grade amendments and reminded them to communicate with their university of choice regarding their amended IB DP outcomes.”

The graduates will continue their learning at the world’s most prestigious and selective universities. Members of Class 2020 have received 287 offers from over 150 universities and colleges around the world, many of which are among the most selective in the world including Ivy League Schools – Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania (including an offer to the prestigious Wharton School of Business) and Dartmouth College. Other offers include the University of Cambridge, University of California-Los Angeles, Boston University, University of Chicago, University of Warwick, Imperial College London, London School of Economics and Politics, and the University of Hong Kong, to name but a few. The Class 2020 was also offered a total of 41 scholarships, amounting to around HKD 12 million.
